Story

At Sainsbury’s, we have a clear purpose – to make good food joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone, every day.

We believe that every child should have the food they need to learn, grow and thrive. But today in the UK, 1 in 7 families are going hungry and too many parents are skipping meals, so their kids have something to eat. We're working towards a future where every family in the UK has access to good food, so no child goes hungry.

This summer, we’re coming together as a division to hit an ambitious goal of 40,000 miles and £10,000 raised for Comic Relief. With around 400 colleagues taking part, alongside contractors, every mile counts whether you walk, run, cycle or swim during the 8-week challenge. All miles will be tracked on Strava, making it easy to log activity and see our collective progress.

With Sainsbury’s doubling every pound we raise, our £10,000 target could become £20,000 — helping to provide thousands of meals for those who need it most.

It’s flexible, inclusive, and designed so everyone can get involved wherever they are.
