26.2 Miles. One Big Challenge. An Even Bigger Reason. 🏃♂️🧡
In April 2027, I’ll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life — running the London Marathon in support of Comic Relief, through Sainsbury’s Move for Meals campaign!
I’m Harry, a Food Manager at Sainsbury’s Thanet Westwood Cross, and I’ve decided to swap some of my time on the shop floor for miles on the road, all for an incredible cause.
This will be my first ever marathon. I’m certainly not a seasoned runner, so the thought of tackling 26.2 miles is both exciting and slightly terrifying! But that’s exactly why I’m doing it. I want to push myself beyond my comfort zone, prove what can be achieved with determination, and most importantly, make a difference along the way.
Why am I doing it? 🧡
In the UK, far too many children and families are facing food insecurity. No child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
Through Move for Meals, Sainsbury’s is supporting Comic Relief to help tackle food poverty and give children and families access to the food they need.
Even better, Sainsbury’s will match every pound raised, doubling the impact of your donation!
My Challenge 💪
Between now and April, I’ll be putting in the miles, building my fitness and taking on fundraising challenges along the way.
My goal is to raise £2,500, and with your support, hopefully go even further!
I’ll be sharing my training progress, fundraising events and the inevitable ups and downs of preparing for my first marathon.
How can you help?
Whether it’s donating a few pounds, sharing my page, getting involved in a fundraising event or simply cheering me on, every bit of support means a huge amount.
26.2 miles won’t be easy, but knowing every step is helping make a difference will make it worthwhile.
Thank you for supporting me and this fantastic cause.
Let’s make every mile count! 🧡🏅
